Chad Walker
Owner & Head teacher
Chad received his black belt from Chris Haueter, who is recognized as one of the first 12 non-Brazilians to ever earn this esteemed rank in the discipline of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Chad Walker has been immersed in the culture of martial arts since childhood, beginning with karate and tae kwon do. These early experiences instilled in him a deep appreciation for the core values of martial arts: self-discipline, respect, and honor. Growing up in Southern California, Chad found a unique balance between the laid-back lifestyle and the structured principles of martial arts.
As Chad focused his attention to jiu-jitsu over the past decade, he observed a shift in the culture surrounding it. While he cherishes the jiu-jitsu community, he has noted a gradual move away from the foundational values that shaped his early training. This realization has reinforced his commitment to uphold these principles not only in his practice but also in his role as a teacher.
As a jiu-jitsu instructor, Chad strives to blend the relaxed atmosphere he values with the discipline and honor he learned as a child from martial arts. He sees himself at the intersection of both worlds, seeking to share the joy of jiu-jitsu while promoting the philosophies that first inspired him. His teaching approach emphasizes foundational jiu-jitsu techniques alongside creative ways to advance his students' skills and understanding.
In this current chapter of his martial arts journey, Chad is focused on perfecting his abilities as a teacher. He is dedicated to fostering an environment where the essence of martial arts—self-discipline, respect, and honor—remains paramount. Through his commitment to these values, Chad aims to inspire a new generation of martial artists who appreciate the rich culture of martial arts.
